After many threads and multiple heated debates on whether or not GatorTail hulls are legal for recreational sale, I'm proud to announce to you here that GT has not only always operated within the guidelines of the law, but now has a permanent waiver from the U.S.C.G to sell their commercially rated non-flotation hulls as FULLY recreational.

Lets take a look at GatorTail's latest press release:

Gator-Tail is proud to be recognized by the United States Coast Guard as an approved manufacture of shallow water boats. Gator-Tail was awarded a Grant of Exemption from Sub Part G, Part 183 of Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations. Being that Gator-Tail boats are primarily used in shallow water environments, we are exempt from floatation requirements normally required in standard boats. This is a great milestone for Gator-Tail as we are the first boat company to receive this exemption.••

As long as the customer gets a safe boat it's all good...

Almost none of the 10 or so GTB hulls delivered here to the Texas area
had the first bit of floatation - and no signed affidavit for commercial
use either....

If GT starts selling hulls with floatation to recreational users like
the older law required and like this "special exemption" seems to allow
you won't hear any objection from my direction....

But if they keep "Exploiting the Loophole" - they are gonna kill someone
cause not everyone getting aboard those hulls understands how fast
they can go to the bottom with one rouge wave or mishap...
