I've always used these 100 watt caps and like them.

Good grief...100 watt hat lol. I guess I should have been a little more specific.. lights mounted on the front of your boat for running. Never seen anthing like that before.

Buy the cheapest spotlights you can find and gut them....then install an hid system.. you wanna see far in the dark, hid will light it up..... I went with the 3000 color temp to reduce glare in foggy conditions. Leds work great too...I don't know if you will get the distance but the hybrid spot/flood light up a lot.

sent by carrier pigeon...don't shoot it!!!!

You get what you pay for..don't spend 20 grand on a rig and use a keychain light to run at night

Post subject:  Re: lights

We run rigids on atv's..the biggest problem with any light is as the vehicle or boat goes up and down so does your beam and as a result your line of sight. The only reason I'm a member of this forum is so I can hear all these idiots bitch each other out over some high priced puddle jumpers

CREE LED 7000 lumens at 60W for $80. Best price I've found, free shipping and it throws an awesome light.

what about seelites? anyone had any luck with those?

also the post about searching amazon for rigid lights... is the 2x2's worth buying? everyone talks great about rigid, but i didnt know how bright they would be. im looking for something that will wake the dead. i dont care to spend money for a good light but i cant justify spending $500 no more than i would use it. maybe if i was running a fishing charter or something, but im not so im looking to spend no more than $350. of course the easier on the wallet the better! :)

Harbor Frieght also, they were running a sale on 6in HID spots, picked up 2 for $40, normally $120 a piece. They throw retina burning light literally over a mile. I would of grabbed three if I wasnt on my bike. Been letting me run wide open at O'dark thirty for three years now with zero problems.
