Post Pro drive idle rpm?
What is the typical idle rpm for a 36hp pro drive? Mine wants to stall out when engaging the clutch while in the water and I'm wondering if I should bump up my idle speed.

Get your valves checked I have a new motor and had the Same prob but for the longest time I had an old long tail it was a feel you get from running it to know the throttle and clutch to not kill it

Mines idleing anywhere from 700-900 and sounds fine, a little lopey. I didn't know what the correct idle speed was. Engine only has 75 hrs.

1200 isn't too high? It won't cause damage to the clutch to engage at that speed?

1200 is fine. Lawnmowers are running 3700RPM when you kick in the clutch on them and it is the same style clutch.

I set it to 1150-1170. It seems much better. Like I said it was set to idle below 1000. I'll run it and see what happens, I bet that was the only problem.
