Post Fish finder/gps
So I just bought a lowrance elite 5, mostly for GPS purposes. I'm not too concerned with the fish finder, but I wouldn't mind knowing depths. I'm hesitant to put the transducer on the transom, I'm worried it will get ripped off, I was curious if any of y'all have one and how you mounted your transducer.

On my last boat I made a sliding bracket that allowed me to loosen and raise the transducer when I was going to be breaking ice or running cattails. I just turned the wing nut and slid the transducer up 12 inches and it lasted. Worked great.

Here is a pic of mine. Same as the one above. So far no issues backing up in the mud. When you are running deep just pull the pin and drop it down.

I've been using the Alumaducer for about 10 years and wouldn't have anything else.
