The only way someone should get a 25 instead of a 35 is if they have a hp restriction where they hunt . I see no benefit to getting a 25 compared to a 35 |

Jay will be building my boat almost identically to Lucecr's last boat except with a 1/8" bottom (hat section, .100 sides); I think I'll be pretty happy if I can get similar speeds with the 25GTR. On the fence about getting the exhaust. |

That boat could handle a 35 no problem you gunna loose more than 3 mph when loaded down compared to a 35 |

You're gonna be just fine with the 25gtr on that boat. I know, I owned the first one just like it. Only difference will be your .125 bottom. Don't think that is gonna hurt your performance at all. I had 6 men at 1200+lbs in mine and was a steady 23mph. When I sold mine it was running a constant 30mph with one person and a light load in 2ft of water. And that wasn't with a new prop. |

Only time I heard of people gettin 25 is if they already owned a boat that they knew was too little to handle a 35 and didn't want to spend a boat load of money on an entire rig. |

OK, I'll put an appointment and a reminder on my calendar. (sarcasm) I'm coming from a 1983 9.8 Merc on a 1436 to a 16.5x46 with a 25 GTR or 25 Merc SeaPro; I think I'll be pretty happy. Honestly, I bought the Subaru because it's my impression that they are more reliable and tougher than the Briggs based on their smaller motors (5hp). I have zero interest whatsoever in modding any Briggs to make it more reliable. None. I understand why and don't disagree with others who spend thousands on modding a lawnmower engine to pick up 3mph----I get it, I like to go fast too----but I have a flats boat that does close to 70mph and I just can't see myself spending a dime to go from 26mph to 29mph in this boat I'll be using 3 months out of the year. Maybe you'll be right; if you are I'll certainly swallow my pride and buy you a beer. |

The only benefit that the 25 has is that it's fuel injected. Which is pretty badass. |

Nvm I found it. Pass-a-loutre is no bigger than a 36hp. "Mud boats or air cooled propulsion vehicles powered by more than 36 total ho are prohibited on the WMA." |

I was skeptical at first of the abilities of my little 25 but so far I've put 21 hard hours on it with no issues. Its been stuck in some pretty bad grass and mudflat and I've always gotten free. It runs 25 all day long in deep water and hits 27-28 with two grown men and 18 gallons of fuel in the shallows. It is also only burning 1.5 gallons per hour wide open. One happy customer, especially since its on a short skiff never designed with a mm in mind. |
