Not going to do turf right now. When I do it'll just be top of boxes and floor. Front deck will be texture paint along with the step deck.
Thanks for the comments guys! It's an insane amount of welding! And the boxes are a whole lot of work!

Good looking boat, nice custom work. X2 on the diamond plate looks good. That boat looks like light, I bet it would move

I like how you did that pattern in your paint. Simple but gives it a good look. Something different! Might steal your idea

Post Re: Gooses 1844 boat build
Well y'all boat is all done except installing battery and battery box, outing a motor on it and filling it up with gas! It's been a lot if work. I have it figured I have about 35-40 hours and $2500.00 in the boat and re doing the trailer. I have several pictures of a few of the things inside the boat and here is a little description:
the boat it 5086 alloy .125 and 17'8"long 44" wide at the back and 47"wide where the rake starts.Yes i know its a square chine but I'm sure ill make due. I have 5 - 2x2x1/8 stringers. It has a 2" drain plug. Some may disagree on how I did this but at the back of the boat I laid a piece of 6" wide 1/4" flat plate the width of the boat on the floor and welded it. I'm front of it there is a 2x2 piece of angle that all of the floor stringers run to and are welded to. The bottom of the stringers have holes so they can still drain. I had a few reasons for doing this. First off I wanted to something stronger then the floor to weld me transom uprights to. Next reason and most important reason is to give the boat a place to hook where I can get to it to beat them out since it has a step deck on it. If you look close at the pics looking at the floor in the back the last 10" are removable plates for doing this. The gun box is 5'8" and is fully sealed. The other box is 30" and is also sealed. Both have drain holes. The front box is not sealed and is just for life jackets and winch. I have the box lid latches ordered jut havent arrived yet.The spud holder on front is braced inside the hull and is designed for the winch to slide into. It has a 12 gallon aluminum built in fuel tank I got for $20 at an old boat place! I put 1 gallon which did 5 coats of quick slick on the bottom and Holey dang is it slick! There are a few things that obviously didn't turn out perfect but I'm dang excited to run it! The rake on the front is the biggest thing that bothers me. It doesn't have a real great curve right where it starts and I figured out what I did wrong but let's face it. That part of the boat ain't gonna be in the water if I have anything to say about it!!!!!!! I'll post speeds and performance when I get the motor. Thanks y'all.

Yeah it's Styx river stencil. I have used it several times and is just about wore out. I did also make the curtain for the front. It's old trampoline material. I don't like seeing under the front deck. I'm stoked y'all! Just wish that dang motor would hurry up!

Putting a mud buddy Black Death 4500 with 4700 rpm coils, cam, roller rockers, and 32" out drive. I called mud buddy and my Motor is finally built and will be here next week after the boat has sitting in the garage for 2 1/2 months!!! I'll let y'all know how it runs in a few days!

Actually I debated on a gator tail or mud buddy when u built the boat. Gator tail was further behind (12 weeks) then mud buddy was(8 weeks). I changed a few things on my order late in the process so the extra couple of weeks was my fault.I really debated between the two but I have never even seen a gator tail before and my last mud buddy was an excellent running motor the whole time I owned it so I went back with one. Maybe one day I'll try a different brand but sticking with what I know for now.

Finally got the motor!!! Mud Buddy Black Death 4500 with 4700 rpm coils cam and 32" out drive. The first day I took it out for about 20 mins or so and it ran like crap! I did get 31.2 mph that day but the motor was running horrible! Anyhow I changed jets and hoged out and polished the intake put on a muffler my buddy made and did a few adjustments and man this thing is running great!!! Took it out again and got it up to 32 by myself in deep water an got it up to 31.6 with 3 of us gas winch battery..... It has incredible power through the whole range. Can run about 4200-4500 rpm depending on few variables. Anyhow love the new rig! Oh huh and the square chines ain't as bad as I thought they would be!

Just saw this exact thread on duckhuntingchat honey hole. Seems odd to have the exact same posts on both sites. Some guys pay good money to peddle their boats on here. Just something to think about if you're trying to get some business

No advertising here. I'm proud if the boat and the whole process. I have it posted on 3 different forums. I just copied and pasted. The boat is not for sale and won't be unless I get the itch to build another one somewhere later down the line in a few years of so. Thanks

Saa-weet looking rig!!! To my eyes it looks like a cross between a Gator Trax and a Pro-Drive. The fit and finish looks super tight! If that boat was sitting on our lot i couldnt keep enough of them in stock!!
