I wouldnt think it would restrict the air flow, it would just help the water bead off and keep from completely soaking it. |

The silicone on the prefilter is only gonna help in a light drizzle. It makes it water resistant, not water proof. If you get caught in a real rain, your motor is gonna run like crap, & barely get you back to the dock, all the while the boat will be taking on water from the rain & causing you to go even slower. That's 1st hand experience talking on that one. It ain't a very good feeling, I promise ya. I don't care if you buy Andy's, or mine, or even the copy of mine that MB is selling now, but if you're running a Mikuni, you need some type of cover over it, or need to plan to never be on the water in the rain. |

Before you give up on it, let him know the issues you are having with it. Andy & Hank are both stand up fellas & will take care of their customers. |

He usually keeps em in stock. I wanna say they're about $15-20. Tell him about your cover too. Yes, the bottle will melt if it gets too close to the exhaust. We used a coffee can for our test run when I 1st had the idea couple years ago. Worked great until it got too close & then things got ugly. |

you can get the pre filters from outerwears. just google it. make sure you get the one with the factory rain repellent applied on it. it cost about 20 bucks and the coating last about a year. |
