Idears on how to fix this besides get shorter.....

Im 6'5" and when standing to run the handle is just a lil low where
you have to bend to reach it. a little uncomfortable after a while.
I was used to my old longtail GD that just rode at my height I guess.

Someone mentioned cutting the tiller bracket and make more of an angel up. reweld
Someone mentioned larger spacers under the bracket to raise it a little but I need 2" up

maybe not possible and just gotta suck it up?

Stock carb still? You'll need to pay attention to the linkages. If using a Mikuni with a cable, easier options.

I shimmed the front of the four handle mounts with some washer to raise it some...I have the same problem, like to drive standing up but have to lean over a little...

Hit something and that sucker will pull ya shoulder out.

I believe bayouboy made a fancy floating handle setup. Maybe he'll post it. You may want to search his posts

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Motor is stock nothing changed.

I like to stand and drive esp with the blind on you cant see if you dont! lol

20 years running a longtail hard to stand up and drive its habit I guess also.

I just did this to mine. Probably got 2 inches out of it. I went to ace hardware and picked up 10 large neoprene rubber washers. I was able to squeeze 4 under each front bolt on the tiller handle. I left the rear alone. My carb linkage had no issues, other than having to bend the exhaust shield a little for more clearance.

man that is a cool set up! A welder friend of mine picked up my rig and
did some mods to it for me up 3.75" and its a much better height now.

I did add a couple shim washers to the front I can always take them out
if its to much. after the shims I did just have to bend in the muffler shield just
a little bit. Will find out monday how much better it is on the river.

I WILL make a floating tiller handle if I ever run a PD, to hell with ripping my arm off.

Wouldn't be that hard to do
