I might be getting a 23hp GDSD, that a guy is pretty much giving to me, later on today. problem is, I only have a Seaark 1436 to run it on. The boat is a good boat as far as jon boats go. it has a all aluminum transom and it has some pretty deep sides. I know I wont get the best performance with this boat but would like to use it until i could find a bigger boat. Has anyone run a set up like this or know of anyone who has? not looking to get bashed on. and how do yall think it would run on a 1448-1548-or anything cheap under the 16' range. wanting to keep light rig.

I ran a 23 on an old 14-36 fun boat just dont stop to fast. Ya should be around 20-21 on the 14-36 ya will gain some speed when ya move up to a bigger boat. Im running the same 23 on a 15-48 G-3 boat. Runs good around 25 by my self 21-22 with 2 guys and a hunting load. It could use a bigger motor though.
