Post New and need help on deciding on a rig!
Well as the title states im completely new to mudmotors/boats and need help deciding on a rig. I will be mainly using it for duck hunting with one/two other passengers and just want opinions on which boat/motor combo would be the best bang for my buck. Ive really narrowed it down to gt or prodrive motor wise and havent really had any luck on deciding on a boat yet. From what ive gathered so far, i would be better off going with the bigger motor.

Ill be using it for duck hunting in SC. I hunt the river and back parts of the lake. There are a lot of stumps and spots that get really shallow and thick. The river on the other hand is full of sandbars and thick mud. Most of the spots I want to get to require me to get over fallen trees and through tight spots. The majority of the season it will just be me and one other guy. I would like to be able to push the mid 20's when fully loaded with me + 1/2 other ppl, guns, gear and decoys. I want reverse on whatever motor I get.

GT and pro drive are good choices. If you want a custom boat dfou or DuckHunterF250 can make you a great boat. I'd also look at a copperhead motor and a cottonmouth boat. http://cottonmouthboats.com

You will get more help if you post this on the cyber mud fest, boats n blinds, or the duck blind forums on here. This section is for guys posting reviews of rigs. It's a good resource for you trying to figure out what you like and want.

Good luck.
