My wife got me tickets to see the DC book author tour. Saw Phil, Kay, and Si here in Milwaukee. Great show. Showed how they are outside of the camera. It was a great message of god, family, and ducks. Let me tell you one thing, Phil knows his way around a duck call, obviously. Wow. All of the DC jokes aside, this is a great family that I was glad I was able to go see.

One thing that has gotten lost in the recent success of Phil and his family is the fact that he sold the original calls based on his ability to make them sound more like a duck than anyone you ever heard blow a duck call. I had a few audio tapes of him giving his sales pitch and blowing with a recording of live ducks in the back ground and he could make the hair stand on your neck if you are a student of the calling game. I am sure he can still blow a duck call better than 99.9% of all callers and yet you never hear him or his boys make a big deal of this. Just more testamony to the fact that they are genuinly good people and as far as they are concerned, it is not all about them. As a long time admirer of Phil Robertson, I can attest to the fact that he is the Duck Commander when it comes to calling a live, wild duck within gun range. He can call better with one of his or one of yours, it don't matter, he is one of the top callers in the world.

Good people and they deserve whatever they get.

But man, I cannot seem to go anywhere without seeing their faces on something being sold. TV, magazines, Cabellas, Walmart should be Called Robertson Mart.

Good for them though.
