Im wanting to buy a shallow water drive motor but i have a 14'48 weldcraft boat and also a 14'53 homemade boat whats the biggest size motor can i run? |

Man you will probably have to demo a couple on your boat. Generally speaking I wouldn;t want less than a 16' boat with a big block briggs. |

Had a 15/48 with a 23gdsd great with one person and LIGHT load, more than that its like pushing the water ahead of you rather than running across it. Needed more boat rather than more Horse's |

I say get a 23hp mini I have a 1546 allwelded with a 24 hp hyperdrive. runs good only draw back is how heavy the motor is on that small of a boat. |

I run a 1542 Geaux flat and have had it GPSed at 25.8 in deep water with 23 MB Mini. It was real choppy water that day so it could probably get out another half MPH in calm water. Don't know in shallow water. Hard to find in southern Minnesota! |

We have a modified GD Crawdad with 29hp van on a 14'x48" Lowe short transome Jon. Handles power ok after adjusting tank and battery forward. Runs 23MPH @ 4150rpm with 550# load 9x5 Prop. Have 9x7 prop coming,to get it off govenor. |
