 Re: Math Quiz
Well, technically all those EQUATIONS are WRONG (equal means "is")
3=3 4=4 . . . 10=10
Now, if you want to find a function that maps those numbers on the left to the ones on the right, it's:
f(N) = 2*N^2
So
f(10) = 2*100 = 200

 Re: Math Quiz
Some guy put this on Linkedin...it has something like 3,000 pages of comments. Unreal how many people tossed out 162 as the answer....not that I read all of them....but there were a bunch in the few that I read.

 Re: Math Quiz
What about?
3 (3x2) = 18 4 (4x2) = 32 5 (5x2) = 50 6 (6x2) = 72 7 (7x2) = 98 8 (8x2) = 128 9 (9x2) = 162 10 (10x2) = 200

 Re: Math Quiz
Although the solution has not been given, I'm agreeing with pokey and say 36. I worked several different formulas and none hold true but this one. To find the formula you have to think abstractly. I'll post back in a couple hours giving the proof. Till then, enjoy!

 Re: Math Quiz
F(N) = (2*sqrt(N)/11)^2 works for that second quiz
F(11*11) = (2*sqrt(121)/11)^2 = 4 F(22*22) = (2*sqrt(22*22)/11)^2 = 16 F(33*33) = (2*sqrt(33*33)/11)^2 = 36

3*6=18 4*8=32 5*10=50 6*12=72 7*14=98 8*16=128 9*18=162 10*20=200
or if your looking for a pattern with numerical order, odds, and a repeating sequence.
3=18 4=32 5=50 6=72 7=98 8=112 9=130 10=152

 Re: Math Quiz
The way they teach math these days....there is no wrong answer, all the want is an estimation.

 Math Quiz
No....they just keep lowering the standards. So, it's okay to have more wrong answers.
Anybody remember when a 92 was a letter grade "B"??

 Re: Math Quiz
200 18+(6+6+2) 32+(7+7+4) 50+(8+8+6) 72+(9+9+8) 98+(10+10+10) 128+(11+11+12) 162+(12+12+14) 200
For the second one... 11x11=4 22x22=16 33x33= 16(squared) = 256/4= 64 x 3= 192
So to simplify say that 11 means 1 and 22 means 2 and 33 means 3, so if we go by 1, 2, and 3 we see the pattern is squaring the previous answer so 4=16 and 16=256 but we know that 3 is 1 and a half twos so you would divide by 4 and multiply by 3 to get 192?
