 Shotgun shells
Any body ever use blind side shells?
What happened to the nitro shells. I think Remington might have made em. I haven't seen any since 97 or 98. They was good shells

 Re: Shotgun shells
They still make it. I've always been a Federal guy myself and mostly shoot Speed-shok because it patterns well and is cheap. I've shot Black Cloud and Blindside and can't say that I killed more birds with them. A buddy gave me a box of Kent Fasteeel last year and that performed well and is only another buck or 2 a box than the Federals.

 Re: Shotgun shells
I like the federals an rem shells hate Kent's have shot black clouds few year ago they did good. Heavy metals are badass if u wana spend the money to shoot them. I usually get few boxes of them a year when birds flyin to high. Blind sides my buddy shoots n seems to like have not tryed em yet

 Re: Shotgun shells
Man I used to shoot nitro all the time but could never fimd em so I just gave up on lookin for em. I was just wonderin abouot the blind side and if theys good or not. I used to sohht my pawpaw's reloads and they kicked like a muel. He'd load em so full the end would hardly crimp down. But they was good to shoot.

 Re: Shotgun shells
I shot blind sides and they pattern well... If I had that kinda money to spend I would shoot black cloud #3's... Been shooting federals since they are cheap and pattern just as good.. Only down fall is they are dirty.. I shoot an Sx3 with extend range pattern master

 Re: Shotgun shells
I have the Vinci with the code black choke.. The blindsides seem better than the Kent's with my gun, but don't wanna spend 25$ per box. Wanna try a different choke

 Re: Shotgun shells
Had been shooting the win xperts for years, last year bought a couple cases of the federal speedshok for 10 per. Shoots a lot better. Like the kent, for me (very similar patterns on the board). Just much cheaper in volume than the Kents. Really liking it. Went back to 3s from 1s and 2s this year for the thicker patterns since i seem to hit a bit better with them. It could all be psychological (keyword "psycho" lol), but I shot a box of xperts I had in the cabinet on saturday, and just wasnt as effective as the Federals (had to chase 4 birds). Have shot both Blind side (last year) and Black Cloud (this year), and i reckon I could claim they were better, but I can honestly say I notice no difference since the federals are so consistent out of my gun (I haven't had a cripple myself since I started shooting the Feds). I still miss plenty, but I can usually acknowledge those were my fault.
For what it's worth to ya......

 Re: Shotgun shells
I've been shooting Federal #3's this year and found that they seem to kill every bit as good as the 2s I shot in the past.
Then I found a few pellets in some birds I was cleaning and they suuuuuuuure look like they're every bit as big as the #2s I used to shoot. I might cut a 3" Federal shell of each of #2 and #3 and see what the pellet count is on both and how much bigger the 2s are. The 3s look huge.

 Re: Shotgun shells
I used to always shoot Kents and loved them but after they went up in price I tried out the federal speed shok and really like them. I'm shooting a SBE II with Patternmaster extended range and love them together.

 Re: Shotgun shells
I shot Kent's and switched to winchester #4 3 inch 1/8 and like those shells curious about the Feds ... I patterned a 2 3/4 #4 vs a Hevi metal 3 inch and at 40 yards the Chester was better even being the smaller shell both were number 4s this a out of a muller waterfowl passing choke with a beretta extrema 2 .. Shot a pattern master before this and so far I am liking this choke better
