Post subject: | New Gecker Exhaust System |
We are finally nearing the release of our tuned exhaust system for 23HP, 35 HP and 36 HP Vertical shaft engine models in the Briggs Vanguard line. It has been a long road but we are near our destination. Thanks to everyone for their patience as we prepared to begin production, solidify our quality and bring these new products to market. We have been designing, developing and producing exhaust systems for multiple types of engine platforms for various markets since 1984. Our team has a patent isolating the features of a true tuned exhaust system maximizing the phenomenon of inertia intake supercharging by the timing, resonance and frequency of exhaust pulses. We have utilized multiple types of measurement equipment to define and harness the supercharging method for mud boat engines. In development of our new exhaust system, we discovered that most exhaust systems use what we like to call “damming” for sound control rather than “deadening” for sound control. The results of the “damming” systems are extremely escalated exhaust gas temperatures causing the engine to run very lean and losses of horsepower when compared to OEM exhaust systems. The result in the lean condition is engine damage over time and lack of exhaust durability as well as loss of performance. Even good quality stainless steel cannot withstand temperatures of above 1500 degrees on a regular basis. Knowing these facts, we have carefully designed a unique system that allows for a reduction in exhaust gas temperatures when compared to even the OEM exhaust system and a gains in horsepower over other systems tested. Our system produces a very unique sound and the sound is adjustable! Here are some unique features: -Exceptional sound-The engine no longer sounds like a lawn mower. -Sound adjustability-Our muffler design is unique to any application and exclusive to our company. At the end of our muffler is a baffle/cone system that is adjustable. You can remove the baffle/cone for maximum performance and sound or you can close it completely for quiet cruising. -304 Stainless-Premium 304 stainless steel material is used throughout the exhaust system. Each system is tig welded and features a rigid support system. -Unique design-Our system features a 5 stage design with a divergence cone and multiple diameter changes throughout the system for maximum performance. -Quality-Each system is manufactured here in our Lakeland facility. We are able to control quality by making each item here. -Dual Exhaust Design-Our system features a tuned exhaust path for each cylinder of the engine whereby allowing us to manage the particular needs for each cylinder. The result of the design is vastly improved horsepower over single outlet systems, OEM systems and “damming” style dual systems. This is definitely the way to go. The appearance is quite nice and provides a type of system design not yet seen before. Currently we are ramping up production for these new systems. We are going to be taking pre-orders for the new system and will begin shipping the new systems within the next week. Early testing of the new system has shown outstanding results in performance, sound and durability. Additional systems will be available for Kohler engine models in the near future. Please bare with us as we begin production and meet demand while running the rest of our shop and producing other products and offering services. In the beginning, occasional wait times may be seen as we march forward until we have sufficient volumes of the parts that make up our new exhaust system. We don’t like that part either but the machines and people can only produce a certain amount per day. God forbid a machine break down… We are not far off from cruising at maximum speed. We will try to keep people current on our status as we move forward. I have attached a few images of our exhaust system as mounted on a 23 HP Vanguard engine. The production version will vary some on bracing. The 23 Hp and the 35 HP Vanguard models feature the same design with changes in tubing sizes to accommodate the characteristics of the 35 HP engine. We will be releasing photos of our 36 HP Vertical model before the weekend and we hope to have video and audio. We have had a lot of phone calls on this system and those of you with 36 HP engines will be quite pleased! Thanks |

i know yall are pros at this stuff but just make sure to not go too far down with the muffler tips. my bps touches water alot when i stop if i stop and leave my motor trimmed in running position, thats the only downfall i found with bps duals. i noticed the design of the pipes before the muffler is the same design as the "torque tube mufflers" we ran on the go-karts, i was wondering when a muffler manufacturer was going to do this. the low and mid power is a tremendous gain on small motors with that tube type. |

They are higher than they look for production. They will not get into the water. We tested that here. Acutally though we have done a lot of testing running the exhaust right into the water. It works great and with the stainless, it does not rust. Yes on the 36/32. The price is $325 for the system. Hopefully today the web site will be updated. Thanks |

I like the price. So would I have to tap holes in my belt housing for the braces? Have a MB 35 Van, Tall Transom. |

Were these engines ever put on a dyno before and after the exhaust, or any speed numbers between the two? |

Back to the topic...Been trying to contact this company, no answer on the phone, mail box full, no response to fax or email...been two days. Why would anyone want to do any business with someone who you can't get in touch with, even if you want to try their product? |

Poker, I've talked to Sheldon on the phone several times, but I havn't left a message for him to call me back. I've been able to catch him around 1100 central time. He's on eastern time. Have you given up on his carb and exhaust?? I just ordered both the exhaust and carb for my PD. Ben |

Ronnie, Ryan gave me the message that you called late this afternoon but I did not get a chance to call you back when I got back this afternoon. I will be in the shop in the AM and I will call you then. I finally got a call back from First Data so we are cool now. Turns out the problem was on your end. I will explain that to you when we talk. I am normally here but this week has been a "running around frenzy". Our Fadal has been broke and we have been trying to get it back going. Thanks |

We are working toward getting some video. The camera we had just is not going to cut it. We are shipping exhausts each day. We will experience an occasional delay on the mufflers as we ramp up production. Come November 8th, we will have a large quantity of mufflers. Thanks |

Just put on the new exhaust it sounds really good. And I like the quiet option which takes no time to change. I did change the mounting system and did not have to drill and tap into my belt housing. I still need to clean up the new brackets I made but the whole project took about 45 min. p 002.jpg p 005.jpg p 001.jpg |

richardb, well any gains? Tell us more about these adjustable cones? I really want to order the exhaust but would like to know more about it first. No reviews other than yours. |

Post subject: | Re: New Gecker Exhaust System |
Anotherred, I had no gain on top end speed I ran it with both cones closed. I will try it out with both cones open next time. But I did not really except any gain in top end speed on just installing a exhaust. My next step will be a new carb to get some more performance. The adjustable cones are slick. They use a allan wrench and you just loosen the allan and slide the cone closed or open. They are correct by the motor does not sound like a lawnmower any more. I know your were concerned about the drilling and taping into you belt housing and you can see in the pick it was pretty easy to just modify the supports. Let me know if you want to know anything else or any other pics. Richardb |
