 Water in my shaft.. (again)
So,, at the end of last season, I noticed a lot more grease coming out of the top of my shaft (on my 16 GDLT) than I have come to find as normal.. anywho. when I pumped new grease into it, a shitload of water would come out the top of the shaft, and it would take a TON of grease, even after just 1 run in the boat.. anyways, long story short, I thought it was my lower seals, so I had them replaced last year and hadnt run it again since I got them replaced, until yesterday.. well... same story again. a LOT of grease came out while driving it, and it took a lot of grease to go back in, and it was spittin up water again from the top of the shaft. WTF is up with this thing?!? just to give you an idea,, this is how much grease came out just from yesterdays ride.. Re: Water in my shaft.. (again)
Yea u need to change da seals…and inspect da Brass Bushings…Call Go Devil and tell them u need some seals…its actually kinda easy to replace them…when u pull da shaft out clean both ends very well and look at the bushings a small amount of wear is normal…but if they are wallowed out or worn really bad on one side …and if u replace the seals and don’t replace badly worn bushings…the new seals won’t last u long.

You need to tell your dog to quit taking a chit on your motor! Sorry, couldn't resist. Seriously though, it's not that big of a deal to change the upper seals.

Check the shaft also, it may be scored where the seals ride.
