Been out the mud motor business for awhile, looking to get back into the game. Sold my ProDrive about 3 years ago and went through a few toys since then. Here's the deal, I hunt point aux chene's WMA prolly every time I can so I would like to stay in the 25hp range due to the restriction. From what I'm hearing the 25 subaru has good speeds and power. I'll be putting it on a 18x40 Aucoins skiff. I currently have a 2012 Merc 25 on it which does 33mph empty and 30mph with loads. I would build the transom to a 20" if I would go with the GTR. I think it would be prefect rig for ducking, frogging, and doing alil crawfishing.

I've got it on a wc 1840 and it runs good..... 3rd person really bogs it down but 2 a dog and gear runs fine....probably around 24 deep water 26 skinny.....

I figure if it can run over 25mph and take a good load I'd be happy with it.

No replacement for displacement. Get a 35.

He said hp restriction is a concern. Go with the 25 GTR it"s really your best/only option. Your not going to be running 30+ but you have the right boat for it so you shouldn't be disappointed.

Post subject:  Re: GTR's deuce five subaru

What a goon....... yes my 25 running empty will run 29.....With 3ppl gear and dog it doesn't have the power.....it's a 25 you troll...... There is no replacement for displacement when talking torque.... but if you have to stay under 25hp..... you got no choice.....do you have a problem with those speeds coming from a 25, aka? Your such the master of intellect..... I bet your motor would pick up a couple mph from efi....but your too stoopid and stubborn to realize it....... so aka is now my mascot for complete ignorance and stoopidity...... any body got a pic of him so I can send out certificates of ignorance to some that post here.....

thats where mine is.....19-20 with 3 men and dog and gear.....I dont expect much more....maybe once i do my heads it will get a little mo power.... decided on not doing anything to the cam for now until i can remap the efi.......Ive already cleaned up air intake, and intake manifold...it was suprisingly clean already... just a little bit of cast flashing....

On our fed land it says motors 25hp or less and 9" prop or less..... it doesn't say you can't run duals.....

I'm sure you can swap cams.... I haven't checked out the torque curve on the carbed version.....

EH 72 Carb model specs

EH 72 Fuel Injected specs

The compression differs by .3:1, The torque is higher on carb motor by 1.1 foot/lb, Fuel Injected is 3 HP higher than Carb. Max HP and Torque come sooner in the RPM band on the Carb model.

My .02

We need the insight of the gear heads

What prop you running on that 25 merc? Those are some impressive numbers for a boat that big.

10x11 Solas on da merc. I would sale the merc if I'd go with the GTR.

Happy Instagator and GTR25 owner here checking in.

It was too windy on Saturday to fish in the Keys so a buddy and I hit the Everglades Marsh Access Area west of Fort Lauderdale. Had over 30 fish before 10am and were back in Fort Lauderdale for brunch with mom by 11am.

It's nice to justify the cost of the mud boat outside of duck season. We found these girls pushing head wakes in less than 9" of water where the bass boats couldn't go.
