Is there any way to take off or bypass the Mercury ignition system on the GoDevil motors? I know its on there for "saftey reasons" but alot of times when im riding around in mud i'll kill the motor to just stop and chill for a minute and that thing is a bitch to get back up so i can start it....i figured there had to be a way to bypass it so i could start up while trimed all the way down with out having to pick it up? Or would it be putting the motor and starter in a bind since theres no clutch? |

There's a wire on each side of the cylindrical mercury switch. Cut the wires as close to the switch as possible and splice the two ends together. . Did this years ago and haven't looked back since. |

The little black box on the back side of the starter? And it wont bind up the motor trying to start in mud? |

I honestly can't remember where it was located. Mine was black and cylindrical if I remember correctly. No problem starting when buried in mud. |

On my longtail I simply just unplugged the connectors on the killswitch itself. |

That's it. Or you could just take it out of the holder and zip tie it to your wire cover in picture vertically. Then you don't have to cut any wires at all. If it's vertical the switch will always be closed. Just make sure wires are on the bottom. |
