whats happeneing guys?! Finally getting around to get working done on my boat and trying to get a poling platform done for my excel...

The dilemna is im trying to get a removable platform on my boat without a hunt deck. If you know excels you know the transom of the boat is not square at all and the motor is pretty far back. Trying to get full turn out of the motor and angle the platform back. The only way I could think of is welding brackets on the transom and using that to make it removable and lean it back. My fabricator thought that would put too much stress on the transom. I seem to think he was just too busy and didnt want my business. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about mounting it on the transom and having the platform over the engine?

yes. but the ways the excels are the rear of the transom is angled and pretty far in front of the motor. Not sure if it being that far back will stress the stransom.

It probably would if you had a lot of weight on it bouncing around. May even act like a seesaw when you get on it to push pole because the weight of it won't be pushing straight down on the boat like it normally would with a hunt deck but I can't be too sure.

hmmm... really need to see if someone has done this on the model without the hunt deck.
