A lot of the holdup is the alloy used to machine the lower unit. It's a brand new alloy of stainless and aluminum and a little bit of who knows what. It has been developed by a major industrial corporation and they are allowing us to use it in R&D on our new products. They are also allowing other industries the same use. The point is to determine the full range of usability for the alloy. Since they are still in the early stages of figuring out how they intend to market and utilize the alloy they have yet to give us a firm cost basis for the material.

So as of now here is still no contact with Dixie ?

I always had excellent service..... even with both of the previous owners.

Your not gonna sit here and tell me that Dixie went from the complete junk they made before to some "game changer". No intelligent person with money would inherit the complete garbage reputation of Dixie, they would open a new brand. I wouldn't take a Dixie even if it was free.

The only experience I have with Dixie is a buddy of mines 10 hp. He had the shaft break 3 times and and the belt 2 times. Said he was a pain to get a hold of. Finally told him to send him a lower unit off a 35 and he put it on it.

So other than chit breaking all the time and not being able to contact the guy and all the time he had to put on it to fix it, I guess it was a good motor! Haha!

I'm just stating facts that I know.

And just to let you know your never going to win this battle!!

On second thought... I retract my previous statement...

40+ mph is more than possible on basically any of these frames on the right boat, we just don't have readily available access to the powerhead to make it happen. Hey, it's possible.

As far as Dixie goes, who knows, maybe they're trying to make something happen to right the ship.

I had the 23 they were quick to take money and after that your on ur on. A friend I hunt with had a 10 and a 23 both were junk, his 23 was a freaking nightmare! Bottom line is I'm glad he knew how to weld because dixie wasn't going to help him. But here is another fact for you guys, this guy just joined the site. Pretty sure he is full of shit and stirring the pot
