 which boat to get
I have been looking for a new boat. I have looked at an Excel 1754 and a Gatortrax 1754. Both with a 35 mud buddy. I do not know which one I should get and looking for some advice and opinions.

X3^^ although I haven't ran with any of the ones made out of the 5086 aluminum. They may be tougher than the older ones but still won't turn as well.

 Re: which boat to get
I live in central Mississippi and hunt the Mississippi delta. I have been hunting with a john boat and outboard so either will be a step up. I have just heard that the excels are not made out of as heavy duty material, but if ive yet to sink a john boat i think i will be fine either way.

 Re: which boat to get
For the money spent on either one mentioned, By three 1648 Alumacrafts and have a spare ready to recieve your motor. Might have enough left over to put a down stroke on a aluminum Welder, also. Gonna destroy a boat with a mud motor might as well be a cheap one. I get about 5 years out of mine, but always have one in reserve. Don't take much time to change out motor.

 Re: which boat to get
I like my 1851 F86 better than the Gator Trax boats I've been in. Or I would go with the Gator Tail Extreme series.

 Re: which boat to get
Drive some different brands if you can. Take your time buying and get the boat you want. These things are expensive. My round chine gator trax is a little slower but its built strong and turns on a dime. I can't speak for excel boats because I never even seen one here. Not knocking excel but I love my gator trax.

 Re: which boat to get
He is right. I thought my old boat was the shit. Until I got my new F86. Drive or ride all you can. Then break out $20k and go get you a rig.
