Kind of high? Just drove over today and the only deep water was between the bridges, lake pelba, lake bigeaux, and the channels, everything else was practically a mud flat or tick tick wit veggies

Where I grew up Henderson is not considered the Basin being its isolated within its own system. I believe that is the case with AJ.

When the levee system was constructed along the Atchafalaya River, the waterways and bays of Henderson were cut off from the natural flow of the Atchafalaya River which resulted in siltation and stagnation of the ecosystem. in the early 60's a water project was constructed to pump water into Henderson from the river and control the outgoing flow with locks. Eventually this turned into a conflict between the commercial interests....the landings and tour boat businesses, and the recreational interests....fishing and hunting. The tourist industry wanted the water high all the time but the other interests want the levels to fluctuate naturally as they had for centuries, flooding and drying cycles which replenished nutrients. My father was the impetus for the project so the topic is close to my heart.

Yes Henderson Lake is way low. Public launch is closed and so are a couple of the pay to launches. Dixie P/L canal is low too. Might try it next weekend just to run my slow-mo long tail.
