Looking to put a blind on my boat. Just looking for opinions on blinds. What are yall using?

Beavertail by far - easy to grass, deploy and store for travel on trailer or heading out to your spot great coverage with the closable shooting ports. I had the Avery Quick set for 10 years and the BT is way better IMO. Had mine out in 20-25 mph winds and it didn't flap like the Q/S.

I've got the cabelas blind and it's simple I'm happy with it. I'm sure there are better but it gets the job done without holes in the boat.

Very simple to build em. I honestly can't believe the prices... I did mine in a few hours. There's a ton of different ways to do it, that's fo' sure.

Banded Axe combo boat and shore blind. Very warm, water proof and wind resistant love mine and highly recommend it

I used EMT, painted or dyed canvas drop cloth for a backer and "flyway" colored netting zip tied all over. Two legs on each side and those big hand clamps from lowes. The netting (app 8'x20' two of em) was by far the greatest expense and it was less than $125. All total maybe half a day and a couple hundred $$$.

Couple pieces of conduit, and some Bimini top hardware, you'll be in a nice blind for under $50. Then grass it up.

It's not hard to build your own. The most expensive part is the camo and fastgrass.

I used 1/2 rigid for strength, ass load of zip ties, tarp/cordura, material. In all under 350 fully built

I've owned Mudbuddy Quickflips and Shaggys. Now have Beavertail. All have their pluses and minuses. Beavertail has the most pluses for what I do.

photo 4.jpgI would build my own, Frames are relatively simple to build and there are plenty of plans for them on this sight. 3/4' emt is probably the easiest to work with but if you have someome that can bend or weld you a set of 1" main side frames, you end up with a stronger structure. Made my side covers out of a 10x 20 military surplus camo net, which we cut in half . /then cut wind stopper backing from a 50' x 36" roll of ground cover cloth which you can buy at Lowes or home depot for next to nothing. This stuff is wind proof and will not wick or hold moisture. Mine had dull brown finish on one side, black on the other. Laid out the ground cover cloth, brown side out, placed camo netting over it and attached the two together with zip ties by poking holes in the ground cloth and tieing to the netting. Zip tied the netting with ground cloth backing to the two main blind frames with zip ties, and then started attaching raffia grass with more zip ties. Made 2 legs that support each main side frame by simply propping agianst the inside edge of the boats sides/ catwalk, and attached these legs to the top edge of the main frames with spring pins. You can pm me if you want more details or pictures. This blind sets up in about 5 minutes and comes down about as fast. Get about 1200 zip ties and 35 -50 lbs of raffia to cover an 1854 boat.

I built one for under $100 got some electrical conduit from a local lumber yard it was 3/4 inch or 1/2 I don't remember it comes in a bundle was like $30 bought four bolts washers and nuts $5 borrowed a bender which is just a curved piece of cast you put the pipe in and roll it with another harder pipe its really basic stuff. You don't need bemini fitting or anything. Ill try to post some pics. It works really well and I built in in about 30 minutes. the expensive part was the burlap. then I just got clumps of natural grass and zip tied it on.
