Brand new here been doing a lot of reading looking for some suggestions. I currently hunt out of a 14ft flat bottom with a 15hp outboard. which can be a pain running around mud , I need to upgrade. I hunt mostly in tidal marshes with soft to firm muddy bottom, there are no trees/ stumps very few rocks or floating debris , there are a lot of tight sloughs/creeks and currently my access is limited to a lot of pushing or going when the tide is in. i am looking for something in the 16-17 foot range. I usually hunt with 1 other person a dog and gear. I am wondering if a basic welded flat bottom will do the trick any advice is much appreciated. Mike |

It'd work fine. Slick bottom is better when ya get down to the nitty gritty but you may wanna take a serious look at 60" bottom if possible. |
