Never even crossed my mind... also never had to buy a boat trailer winch before. What capacity and gear ratio should I get for a 18x44 Go devil? I know the hull weighs 500 lbs and the engine a couple hundred I'd assume. However it would be nice to be able to have one that drags it on the trailer with the trailer hardly being in the water. So I guess I should ask what gear ratio would be overkill for that boat? Bc that's what I want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Put gator glide on the hull and you won't need a winch. |

Basic Fulton 4.1 to 1 1100lb winch is all you need. Could step up to the 1500lb one but really don't need it and no change in gear ratio. |

Thats what I have on mine and I can crank my 17.5x38 up without any trouble with the bunks 4" above the water. |
