 Empty boat trailer.
Got abt a 450 mile haul with an empty trailer tomorrow. The son of a bitch likes to bounce too. I found some heavy scrap steel around the farm to strap to it and it seems to work but after a 10 mile drive the shit has come loose already. I have a 15 foot boat I could stick on the trailer but I'm picking up a hull down there and don't know how compatible they would be to stack and if it might damage one hull on the way back. Any thoughts? Should I just let it bounce? Part of the trip involves that piece of shit they call I-10...

 Re: Empty boat trailer.
Lay the barrel on runners above the axle fill with water until it runs out put cap on and tie downs.

 Re: Empty boat trailer.
I can screw a board down to the bunks in front of and behind the barrel to keep it from sliding

 Re: Empty boat trailer.
Well this will work out good but the only barrel I could find has a little motor oil in it. I don't wana go dump used motor oil from Georgia on the ground in Louisiana.

 Re: Empty boat trailer.
I have taken 8-10 cinder blocks and strapped them to an empty boat trailer. It helps but it'll still bounce some. Easier to tie down than a barrel. Put as many as you can on the bunks, should be fine. Stack them in the truck for the ride home.

 Re: Empty boat trailer.
Go to a local carwash. They usually have 20-30 plastic barrels waiting to throw away. And they hold biodegradable chemicals.

 Re: Empty boat trailer.
Update: didn't want to dump used motor oil in the ground. Wound up strapping the scrap metal on real tight. Made it from Atl To nola in tact. Now the boat is loaded and I'll be headed home tomorrow, decided to spend the weekend here. Thanks for the input guys. I know the water barrel would've worked had I had a clean one though.
