I just discovered a cell phone app that accurately measures belt tension using sound frequency when you strum the belt. I tested it, and it works great. Here's how you do it Download Tension2Go from your app store Apple https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tens...585560650?mt=8 Android ttps://play.google.com/store/apps/detai ... n2Go&hl=en Choose Belt-CONTI SYNCHROCHAIN PROFILE- CTD PITCH- C8M WIDTH- 36MM FREE SPAN LENGTH- TALL TRANSOM=543 SHORT TRANSOM=463 SUPER LONGTAIL=148 Tap start, hold phone speaker next to the belt, and strum it with your finger. It will give you a N value (newtons) the value needs to be as follows Short transom= 956-1045 Tall transom= 956-1045 Super Longtail= 818-894 If you want to figure out how many lbs that is multiply the N by 4.448, then divide by 12 to get foot lbs. |

GD has used an audio analyzer on the assembly line and for in house repairs for years... It costs over $600 though - so a cheap phone app is pretty cool ! Good Find ! |
