Does anyone run this combo or a 25gtr on an alweld hull. Would like to know how well the .100 gage aluminum holds up and performance. Thanks |

If u run stumps the .100 is gonna be a problem also they aren't braced with longitudinal runners I would look into a gatortail boat or custom builder. Sent from denda this |

Is the marsh series slick bottom? I have an alweld dealer close but he really doesn't know much about them. I messaged alweld and haven't heard back from them |

Southfork has a slick bottom .. Has only one rib that runs down middle of boat Horizontal bracing just asking for hooks See Ckassifieds for 25 on a custom |

I'm pretty sure a boat builder will match alwelds price with a thicker hull |

I don't have any mud flats on the water I hunt and I've ran the area for a few years so kinda know where the stumps hide. I run some bigger water, grass, and some shallower water. Does a ribbed bottom run better in deep water compared to a slick bottom? Thanks |

I'm not wanting to go under a 48" bottom. I've read good reviews on a 1648 boat for the 25hp gtr. Is a 1748 too much for that motor? |

I probably need to add that I usually hunt a dozen decoys, 2 guns, 2 hunters, 2 gun bags, and dog about 40% of the time. 40% im alone and 20% im with 3 (maybe one or two hunts a year). I fish alone 70% of the time I decided to get a 25gtr because Id like to have EFI and a longer warranty on the motor. I could probably get away with an outboard but really enjoy these mud motors. Last summer I got my first mm, and fished out of it more than my 1754 tracker grizzly. Just wanting something I can fish/ hunt/ joy ride in. Finally got my grizzly and mm rig sold. So trying to figure out what I want/ need. Plus if I decide I need more power I'll upgrade to a 35 after the 25 craps out. |

Looking into going ahead and getting a gator tail boat for the 25gtr 1648 gt series Dropdeck Spud pole kit Front hatch Going to see how much extra it would be to get 20-21" sides and catwalks |

It would be a nice addition, I wouldn't want it permanent though. I'd like it removable. To me a hatch is overkill. Not enough space to justify putting one. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk |

would a 1748 stump jumper be too much boat for the 25hp gtr? thanks |

If you don't have hp restrictions go with the new 37hp with efi. When the 25 first came out everyone jumped on them but it didn't take long and a good many were up for sell. They just don't have the ass the big block does. |

Based on the reviews I've seen of that 25 on different setups, it's quite comparable to what I'm running with my 27. I've got it on a 1748 with .125. Fairly open floorplan (gunbox and extended deck). 24 solo, 19 with three and hunt load. Boat with battery and gas and nothing else comes in around 620lbs. Saving 100 lbs or so on the boat and I bet it'll pick up a couple mph and hop up faster |

If your run any stumps I would go custom with 3/16 bottom. This is an 16/48 alweld with about 8 trips in the stumps. |

Looks like that was 8 times to many... |

Post subject: | Re: 25hp gtr 1648 alweld |
It was 8 times too many. It did ok without running stumps but I would not buy one to run with a mud motor. If you already have one run it until you can get a true mud hull but don't buy one from the start for a mud motor. |
