Post Throttle lever on GTR
I know this is a know issue if them cracking and breaking off, what else is available to assure that this won't happen to me again in the future? I have read some about bicycle handles and rigging them to work but I never heard if they help up any good. Also has anyone coverted their GT to a twist style throttle? How much where and how do you like it?

Call Gatortail. All the new motors come with a stainless steel throttle leaver like the BPS one. Call em im sure they'd get you one.

I prefer the 8 dollar clutch lever off amazon. Much more comfy than both. Will know this weekend if it works on a mikuni. It took a bit of adjusting to get it to work right on my mb with the kawasaki.

Just put the new GT lever on a few weeks ago. it is $60 but it is really comfortable and there is no real adjustments that have to be made to the linkage.

The feel of it is incredibly better. It nice that they send the cable with it. Not near as hard to squeeze compared to the old plastic one and my dirty cable. Very impressed.

Guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and spend the $60. Was concidering getting a clutch lever (for significantly less) and making it work, but being able to just swap out handles and new cable without any major adjustments makes the extra cost justifyable to me.

Got my new throttle/cable from Gatortail today. Along with an aluminum clutch cover. It's an old one that is no longer available (I got the last one and doesn't look anything like the current covers) and a squirrel cage to cover my grass guard. Gonna look at replacing the throttle lever this afternoon. The clutch cover needs to be drilled so it can be bolted on the belt housing, but I was really surprized that they painted it before shipping it to me. More cudoz for the Gatortail team.

Now let's see if I can change this throttle without screwing something up.

Its not to hard. Just a matter of unbolting the old one, putting the bew one on and hooking on the cable to the throttle slide

Gotter done! Easy peasy. That new lever is much mo gooder! One minor adjustment where the casing clamped in to get full throttle. Nothing else to do now but use the dang thing!
