So my brother has this boat, and this motor. Obviously , the transom support brace will keep the motor from mounting properly. Has anybody cut a notch in the mounting bracket on the motor to fit over a support brace like this? Just worried about it weakening the mounting too badly. Im thinking this would be better than cutting the brace on the transom. It's a 25 GDLT. Thanks for any help!

I would cut the motor bracket. If it did weaken it any it would be a lot easier to reinforce it rather than cutting that brace on the transom.

I would notch it Daniel. (The motor bracket that is). Just enough to get the motor on the transom.

That's what I told him. He wanted to notch the transom but I didn't think that was a good idea. Was just wondering if anybody had botched a long tail mounting bracket before and had any trouble

Notch the motor mount is my two cents. What a stupid place for a brace!

Looks like it'll work just fine.
