Is it really starting to get that cold already up there already? I had some buddies that were out on lake St. Claire today and said it was miserable but I figured they were over exaggerating. |

It went from 85 to 60 really quick I think they packed their bags. I'll probably go scout again when I get the boat back from rons |

It's been cool here but not cold enough to cause the blue wings to leave.. It was another good nesting season for all duck species as well. Should shape up to be another good season.. |

When teal season starts here(ks) the second weekend of September for the early zone. Typically it's still 90 degrees and 60-90% humidity. The way this year is looking it might actually be duck weather by opening day for once in my life. In the mornings it's been 60% humidity, and 50-60, highs in 80s. You la folks know that means foggy! It's a welcome change to be cooling off in august, hasn't done that since I've been alive. I know that sounds crazy but the area of ks I live is a sub tropical climate. We're in a bowl and our elevation is only 1300 ft. Most of kansas is 2000+ Some years were fairly dry. On the wet years our weather is identical to south, la in the summer minus the hurricanes Sent from...wait, Where am I? |

Already seeing decent numbers in a few spots on the Gulf Coast. Working on the lease again this weekend, probably have more show up with this front tomorrow. |

Went scouting the other day and saw some teal and a few local mallards up here in Iowa. This will be my first year hunting up here. It doesn't seem like waterfowl hunting is all that big up here either so duck commanders are hopefully in short order. Also, coming from the south to here has been... nice. The weather is unbelievable. It was 50 degrees this morning on the way to work. |

My buddy up in NoDak is reporting mid 70's during their early goose season. Says there's a ton of birds up there and they're not moving out yet. |

I know quite a few guys that were still killing blue wings the first 2 weeks of big duck season last year. |

My camp overlooks the marsh where our lease is. The blind is less than a half mile from my lot. Been seeing some small groups of teal moving early and late every weekend. Not big numbers, but there are a few here (SW Louisiana). Also some Mexican Squealers, but they'll probly be moving out before the big duck season starts. Last year was without a doubt the best teal season I've ever had. We limited every day we hunted. |
