I heard a rumor that Gator Tail was switching their plastic transmission covers and front switch panel covers to aluminum. Is this true? I need to get new transmission cover. I noticed a crack in mine right next to the screw that holds it down. Guess it is from all the vibration. Hopefully they can paint it nat gear to match the rest of my motor... :?

Yeah, GT is workin on covers to take da place of da plastic ones. They're not puttin dem out yet. But dat aint shit compared to some of da other cool thing dat GT is workin on dat will be comin from GT in da future.

Maybe I've allready said too much.

Da only real problem wit da plastic coner is da one dat are meltin. And dat is caused by operator error. People are not holdin in da break lever tight enough causin it to slip, get hot and melt da cover.

Post subject:  Re: GTR Plastic Transmission Cover

it was nothing i did, i ran a console. foot was no where near the pedal. the caliper just locked up. went to gt, hoyt put a new caliper, and a new clutch cover free of charge, but it still sucked running the motor all weekend with no reverse. esp. with the lillies were fighting right now.

was at the launch the other day and seen a gtr with no clutch cover, i just kinda laughed, figured he went through the same thing.

I see what your gettin at and I know da ease of operating a PD is more like a traditional outboard than any of da competitors.

Ya need to lay off the FPF, then ya wouldn't burn them covers up when using the reverse.
