I have a 1444 all welded duck boat and was wandering what motor to put on it. thought about the copperhead 23, MB mini, and GTR 25. would really like to have the GTR but think its to heavy |

I seen a guy on here a couple years ago ran a 25 gtr on a 1446 1/8 gauge aluminum skiff. I think it would work but wouldn't work great. Depends on if u hunt over hard bottom and what kind of load you will be carrying. Also it will work later if you desire to get a bigger boat |

Get a 23 if you have to have one now. If not save your pennies for a new boat. I ran a 23 mbsd on a 1442 for a little while and it worked but was not ideal. Then I saved up some money and got into the big blocks and big boats. Sent from my beeper |

I ran a 23hp Backwater SWOMP on a 14x42 and was super happy with it. The 23hp class should serve you well - just be careful on swamping the rear end. |
