went out with dog walker this morning and backed off the trailer and "snap" wheel just keeps spinning with no resistance. so that screwed up my plans to hunt. just glad it happened at the launch and not WTO in the marsh at dark thirty. :o so i took it apart when i got home i took the teleflex apart and the gears were sheered! this is after i greased up the push rods and made sure everything was tight yesterday after i go home. (preventative maintenance screwed me  ) so im gonna call PD tomorrow and see what they recommend. i think i am done with teleflex though; i am probably switching over to hydro. easier to turn and not nearly as much tension or stress on the motor.
have any of you taken out teleflex off your boat? you think ill have trouble. is there a reason why teleflex is used and not hydro?

Hydro is da only way to go with as much resistance as we have turnin these motor in da mud. I've been wit a friend who had da teleflex steerin on his PD and it striped out when we put it in da mud.
Only downside of hydrolic steerin is it ain't cheap.
