I was just watching the news and it seems like you guys in lousisianna and Mississippi are gonna get your damn rain in the form of a tropical depression from hurricane patricia. Better unstrap your boats and leave the winch unlocked. Good luck;) It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

I don't want any of it. Our marsh has water and that's all that matters haha. I'm selfish |

By the end of this you guys will be able to go from your duck spots right to Walmart for the wife's grocery list when you're done hunting, and not even have to leave the boat It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

We need it in NE La; it's been 100+ days without any meaningful rain. Our lease has some monster cracks in the ground that are going to take a LONG time to fill up. Every little bit that mother nature helps out is just that much less I have to spend on diesel... |

I hope we get a lot in central ms. I don't remember it being this dry in my 28 years on earth. We have 6 ponds on our property if it don't rain soon we're gonna lose all our fish. |

South Louisiana is getting plenty right now. Came off the island this morning and the water from the bayou was about to be in the road. I suspect that when I go in tonight the water will be in the road. Being from central Alabama I'm used to seeing floods but dang the water gets up much faster than it does back home but then again we don't have tides to deal with. |

Our marsh was just perfect as of this morning. Likely to be flooded all across SWLA by the time this system moves out. Luckily, its all wier controlled marsh, meaning it can get out, but it can't get in. All depends on the tides and wind afterwards. By the time the season starts in two weeks, we'll hopefully be back to normal. The juvenile hunt next weekend is probably gonna be hit or miss with all the fields and noramlly dry areas holding water. Birds are gonna be scattered for sure. Hope all you guys needing this rain get your share. I'd gladly let y'all have mine!! |

Looks like we ended up with around 4" here at the house, right on the texas line. Dont think our lease down in little chenier got that much, but everything south of the ICW will have to drain off somewhere. We'll probably get some of that before it's all over with. |

The water's been so high here that we had two young fuks cut down a bunch of cypress trees so they could get their old mud buddy into a pond on my lease from a public lake. We couldn't believe it when they popped out the woods next to me while we were fishing on our private pond. I told them they got to go and followed them out to the public lake and they ended up busting out the landowner's truck's windows that night and trying to run him over two days later while he was on his morning walk, he's about 80. |

In the words of Forrest Gump, "One day it started raining and it didn't quit for four months." Or that's what I feel like at least lol And RootSumn I think I'd have just beat the shit out of them that they wished they would've got ran over. Some people just have to learn the hard way.. |

It kinda fuked up my youth weekend hunt. North winds been blowing past 2 weeks but this storm got the, water pushed all up in the bay and everything is flooded. There is a ridiculous amount of birds here right now but the whole marsh is 2 ft under and got them skattered everywhere. Hopefully it clears out this week or openers gonna be a bust here. |

Went to my lease yesterday and made sure all the fields we plugged were holding water. We probably got 5-8" of rain. Ducks are starting to pile up in our cut Milo Fields and reservoirs. This rain came at the right time for us. |

The bay drained pretty quick here from what I can see on land. Yesterday the bayou was over flowing the field next to it, on my way to work this am there was a good 4ft of mud bank between the water and land |

Sooooo tempting to get in the truck and head that way. Just got home, boat is already hitched. Just need to jerk the cover off and roll. I know there will be some dry land hanging out in moon pond or somewhere in one of those flats on the north end of that big tidal area off the Neches.... |

Went to the camp at Delacroix this weekend to fish and water was high as giraffe pu$$y all weekend. When I left Sunday morning she was about to come on the road. It wouldn't be bad if that east wind would chill out. Hopefully the camp didn't get any water damage. |

That southeast wind has been blowing for the better part of a week. All of coastal cameron parish has been flooded from the wind and high tides. The water here at the house (40 miles up the Sabine) has been threatening to cross the road here. Now that this system has moved thru, winds are howling out of the north. Water here is all but gone. The marsh should be in pretty good shape. We were on our lease Saturday morning to work on our blind. Jumped "A BUNCH" of ducks on our pond. Mostly teal and Mexican Squealers, but a few big ducks too. I'll shoot my limit of squealers any day!! Them suckers eat good!!!! |

This recent system has dumped alot of water all over SWLA/SETX. Newest flood warning has the Sabine rising to 26.8 ft at Deweyville by Wednesday. If it dont get any higher than that, we'll still be able to drive in and out from the house. If it clmbs higher, we'll be parking the cars at the head of the road and taking the early morning boat ride for work. Luckily the canal ends within 100 yards of where we leave the vehicles. |

We got right at 12" at my house. The highway is shut down on both sides of me but if you have a taller vehicle the road is still passable. The waters still coming up too. About 6" in the past couple hours. I pushed water with the grille of my Dodge 5500 4wd just to get into the house. It's some bad shit right now. We got more rain in a shorter time span than we did last weekend. .....and it's still raining today too lol. |

Opening weekend in SWLA is gonna be tough I'm afraid. All of the pastures and dry areas of marsh are holding water and that's gonna scatter the birds. Last weekend I flushed probably close to 300 birds off our pond. This past Friday I only saw a fraction of that. Not that it matters at this point. Lost my brother, best friend and hunting buddy to cancer Saturday morning. It aint gonna be the same without him there. |
