A guy I used to work for has a 2011 GDSD, with 934 hours on it as of today. I used it to duck hunt before the split and it still ran great. Never had to put a single wrench on it except to change oil and filter. He said he uses rotella triple T protection 15-40 and changes oil every 100 hours. He doesn't even know what valve lash is either Maybe he's got a good motor, idk,.. |

the current 36 briggs on my prodrive has 3525hrs on it. it started having a rod knock at 3400 hrs. i'm gonna run it till it blows. this is my 5th engine if i remember right, has 2 kholers [one had 15oo hrs, the other well over 1000], a generac (400sumtning hrs], and 2 briggs engines. [168hrs and the current one with 3525hrs] only thing origional on my motor is the tower housing, and it's been welded together several times. i change the oil every 100hrs or so or until it gets black. and if you know me, i beat the heck out of it all the time. it's just a tool. at 500 hrs these mudmotors are just getting broke in good. lol one thing i can tell you, is that things break and parts wear out. so if u don't want to repair/replace parts, get a canoe and a good paddle. lol |
