As many of you know by now dguidry has been banned. I would ask that we all move from this and let it die down. I would also ask to refrain from posting any slanderous comments about him and let's get back to talking about mudmotors, and all the other cool stuff we talk about here at MMT. Thanks! |

Why was he banned Tony? He was probably the most polarizing member here, maybe short of AKA. But it seemed that anything he did really wrong was a few years ago. he was not banned then, but why now? Was it just some lingering grudge from a moderator? If a moderator can just ban someone for no recent reason but for 2 years ago, or just a grudge or feeling, the credibility of a forum is in question. Then what is to keep moderators from just banning anyone because they do not like that person's MM or because of any reason no related to a real offense. I think that you and only you should bring down the ban hammer. If a Mod has a problem, they can refer to you to ban. You have always seem to have the wisdom of the big picture and the long term. I also think that he can help with the Shallow Water association. Why not have a sub forum for just that, where that is the only forum he can log into. |

A forum isn't a democracy, or have a bill of rights. If the staff wants a member gone, guess what's about to happen. It's like that on every forum I'm a part of. I don't see why it would be any different here. |

Getting banned from a forum isnt the end of the world. I could get banned tomorrow for no reason and wouldn't give two fuks about it. |

I say bring Dean back. He does not bother me in any way and neither does anyone else. When I'm at work and need a good laugh I open MMT. |

I try to stay out of the whole Dean thing but I feel like I want to weigh in on this subject, especially regarding the SWBA and his banning. When Dean was spearheading the SWBA I was apprehensive. Despite him having the technical and legal experience, I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling with him being the face of it, more embarrassed and reluctant to put my name near it. My big problem with him was that he is inflammatory. There's nothing special about his political views. Over half the country voted for the same man he voted for, he's not the only democrat around. BUT, he's the only one that gets talked about. He provokes, at this point, thousands of people into blind rages just by pushing buttons and running his mouth. He goes out of his way to rub others' noses into his way of thinking and it brings out the worst in people. With all of that in mind, I can't blame the heads of this board for getting rid of him, he's toxic. As far as the SWBA was concerned, the only thing he had to offer to that organization was the set up and filings. He has no pull because he garners no respect. If there is a legitimate threat to the mud motor/boat builders' market, then they will act, but the SWBA doesn't NEED to be tied to either this board or Dean (and I'd think if you were serious, you wouldn't want it tied to such an inflammatory person). Good on Tony and Coe for getting rid of a person that has chronically incited so much negativity in a place that was meant for fun. |

I am one of the few that put my feelings aside and gave him some start up money. I am the one who came up with the Association idea and preached about it on MMT, not DG. It wasn't his idea. I just don't have the time to spearhead the organization and DG took the initiative. He claims that he approached the big 5 MM companies but that apparently didn't go anywhere. We can only assume that the companies know who he is and what he is about. On one hand he's a tenacious fighter and on the other, he is loathed due to him provoking others. I'm sure the MM companies didn't want him being part of face of the industry. So where do we go from here? This association needed to happen yesterday. I just don't understand why there hasn't been an industry push for this. Every year our rights get restricted and we won one battle in a long war by coming together on MMT and giving Plaquemines Parish Hell last year. |

Just my opinion but as far as manufactures getting involved I would say leave them out of it. Even if all of them were on board and had a strong voice it would appear to anyone you go up against that they are involved because they have money to lose. This would have to be an individuals type group. As for having it based here on MMT, I think a vote would be in order being those who posted above have different views on that. It the people want it here I'd be happy to make a forum just for that. |

Ole duidry... Didn't take me long to figure out why everyone disliked him when I first joined the forum.. I thought he was funny at times disagreeing with people then it got old when he disagreed with everyone.. Then I went to caddo in 2014, me and huck finn were eating breakfast in the diner on the lake when I noticed this fella with shirt tucked in his shorts, Mid calf white socks with his tennis shoes and glasses sorting through these pile of name tags... I asked who that was and huck told me it was Guidry... I laughed and thought to myself, no way... No way that is the famous Guidry I've been reading about for about a year. No way That fella causes that much trouble on the Internet .. Well he figured how to be disliked and does it well haha.. Oh and I kindly accepted the name tag he had for me and thanked him.. Then stuck it my pocket haha.. It was a good idea I thought for people like me who knew no one at the ride and had trouble keeping up with names because everyone I met had 2 names (real name and mmt handle) .. Ahh well, that's my story about dean.. Oh and I have a picture of him somewhere from that morning.. Always thought it was funny that he was the big bad wolf Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Why not? MMT is a platform that we used to spread the word about the proposed PP ban and for anyone to say that the constant calls and emails wasn't a contributing factor is wrong. MMT has done so much for the industry and the consumers. It's where it all began and for that fact I'm loyal. I didn't turn, run and start another mirror image forum. I'm not into to juvenile dick measuring on the book of face. It did hurt my heart that Tony B went to the other company but I got over it. |

MMT is a double edged sword to launch/promote/host some sort of MM organization. Everything BSH says is true. But, the flip side of it is, this would also be the face of the organization....would you really want everybody's dirty laundry representing an organization that is supposed to be facing off against government officials, other organizations....say, CCA, DU, Delta Waterfowl, Save the Coastline, the Kayakers, the landowners like Continental Land & Fur...and pick any number of tree hugging organizations out there. No, any MM organization needs to have their own, independent website, their own WELL MODERATED forum and topic areas to support their own agenda. MMT nor any of the other current MM forum sites need to be the face of a MM organization. It would be the laughing stock of organized associations. Not a single group, supporting or opposing, would give you a second look. One visit here would give them all the ammunition anybody would need to ban all mud motors forever. |
