Toledo Bend is at 174 feet....highest level on record. 9 gates opened to 22 feet, 704,000+ cubic feet per second coming down the Sabine. Deweyville supposed to crest at 34 feet....10 feet above flood stage. Looks like we may get water in the house this time.....wish us luck

Done hauled out what had wheels under it. Slowly packing the guns and other possibles. Wife has to work in the morning, but soon as she gets home we're headed to the camp with the critters. The real bad water probly isn't gonna hit here till Monday, but it isn't supposed to crest till around the 20th. At least we have a place to go. Dreading a 2 hour drive (one way) for work tho.

Yeah, I remember that, but it's still no excuse for not letting some of that water go ahead of what everyone knew was going to be a very wet weather system. Make some room for all that water you know is coming. No, instead they hold on to it all, let the lake flood every house around it, put the structural integrity of the dam at risk, as well as every life below it. SRA could take some lessons on flood control and power generation from TVA. Some of their reservoirs are drawn down as much as 90 feet in the winter to allow for flood control. There's no way you can make me believe they couldn't be more pro-active in managing their resourses. I want some of whatever those SOB's is smokin'.

There's plenty of us right across the river that aren't quite so bad off this time, if you need a hand hauling anything or getting anything to higher ground just holler. Stay safe, that much water is no joke.

The Neches is gonna rise a bit too. Not this bad but its gonna come up. They're calling for water in Orange to reach 6.5 feet. That's 2.5 feet above flood stage. There's gonna be alot of people hurting on the other side of the river too. Our only saving grace (if you can call it that) is that the water is going to spread out across the bottoms. That'll help a little with how deep it gets, but I fully expect a total loss at this point. Rather expect the worst now and hopefully be surprised later. Wishfull thinking....I'm sure. To look at it right now, you can't tell anything is going to happen. At least we're getting forwarned so we can get out of it's way.

I'm about 15mi west of the Neches as the crow flies. My area is always the first to flood around here since it's all pretty low and flat, when it comes up it normally falls fast since this is where the headwaters for several small creeks and bayous gather. The highway in front of my place has been underwater already but it looks to be falling and was never impassable. Either way, like I said, don't be bashful, reach out for help if you or anyone you know needs it.

Flood stage for the Neches is 17ft and it's supposed to get there and beyond by tomorrow morning. Crest should happen at about 18.5ft. There will be low lying flooding close to the river but it won't be anything those folks aren't used to and shouldn't be wide-spread.

Finally was able to get a look at the place thanks to a friend of my niece who boated back and took some pics. Water is three feet deep in the house. Probably be 4 feet by the time it crests.

That's what the wife and I keep telling ourselves. We're just anxious now to get in and start rebuilding. Kids want us to take our insurance money and run back to Tennessee. Would be an easy move....very little to pack. Have already filed a claim and as soon as the water drops we'll get the adjuster out there to start the process.

Good luck dealing with those crooks. An insurance agent told me that guns art covered under homeowners, u have to have a separate policy for your guns. Ima check around to see if this is true.

Should have them itemized. Otherwise they're only covered up to a certain dollar amount, which isn't high...like 2k or something.

Hoping for the best man. I'd read your policy so you know what you are entitled to. Most ins places will send you another copy of the terms. In my past experience when my dad's shop burnt down a couple weeks ago, them bastard tried everything they could to lowball my dad. And then finally they made him make an itemized list. we flooded from Katrina in B.C. Texas. we had to itemize everything and it was over what our contents was worth. I lost thousands in just hunting cloths. find a way to maximize your claims and get everything you can outta you insurance because in the long run you will still had more than they give you money wise.

Luckily, we took all the guns, safes and important papers. I know we will never recover all of the monetary loss, but hopefully I can get the max on everything my policy is supposed to pay. Been working with my adjuster and am starting to create an itemized list. The wife also made a video of everything inside before we left. A neighbor has been kayaking in and sending us pictures....heartbreaking to say the least, but we're safe, able to eat and work. Surprisingly, our kayaks are still in their rack.
