Alright guys got a question, might have been answered before but I can't seem to find any info on it. I just got a hold of what is a 2010 HD mini 35. (It has this cut into the plate just under the engine). Now i have heard about the LA special, is that what this is? Any info would be appreciated. |

Now I know it is going to take some work to fix it back up, but it runs and drives fine all cosmetic surface rust and before everyone chimes in, I got this motor for the grand old price of........free. Hope the pics help. |

Holy rust bucket... what are your plans? Might be worth the 3500 for the HDR conversion. It should replace most of the bad stuff there. And a new trim unit. As long as the motor is good. |

Yeah, planning on the Merc trim conversion first and foremost, then probably out drive and belt housing. Figured i'd make a project out of it. Motor is solid and actually has only about 60 hrs on it. |

I would replace the bolts at the pivot points with brand new ones. Seen a couple on here laying in the mud behind the boat connected by fuel lines and battery wires Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Good idea. Now are those just standard stainless bolts? (It's my first real mud motor) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Now another question it appears to have the old Thompson style trim, and it's acting up, if I'm going to replace it, is there a possible conversion to the "manual/hunter" style? Or is my only option the Merc conversion? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah I saw a few other threads on it, think I might go to fastenal or northern tool for 100, get 4 of them before shelling out the 450 on BPS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
