Admins, please sticky a version of this or something similar to this.

Guys, lately there has been an influx of the same topics over and over and over again. Whether were talking about engines, props, kits, stages, etc. It seems that everyone wants the answer "now" and doesn't want to try and search the forum. There is tons of valuable information on this site and lately it seems to be getting cluttered up with nonsense topics about the same thing. So, we need to do something or this stuff will get out of hand.

So, step #1, have you used the search feature or not to try and find your topic of information?

Step #2:
Once you have clicked the search feature, a second window will open up for you to type in your topic of choice. stages, carb work, Delta performance, etc. Even if you can't spell the topic or misspell the topic, you can shorten it and it will still bring up the information. carburetor or carb. There is also a line for the author. If you know the parties "site name", then you can simply type in his name and all the topics he has commented on, will pop up.

Step #3:
Over the years, the site has transitioned to newer servers and some information "on the site" has been somewhat lost. You can't retrieve it. If this is the case, go to the Google search bar and search from there. In the search bar, type "blah blah blah mmt". Type whatever you want to search for and add "mmt" to the end of it. This will retrieve old information and bring you back to the site to look at the older information. Now, depending on what you are looking for, some pictures will not be present due to being "flushed out" over time. But all the useful information that you can read through is still there front and center.

So please use the site features and you be more than happy with all the information you can find with a simple search feature.

Add this:
Don't jack up classifieds. If you aren't interested, move along. If you think the price is too high and just have to tell somebody, use the pm feature. Much better off letting it go, but if you just have to, send a pm.

Use the reviews forum for reviews. It is not the forum where you ask questions.

I know the last comment I made in the classifieds was after yours, but that^ really wasn't directed at you man. It happens quite often. The occasional ribbing/bump of a thread of someone you know personally, I understand, but there's a lot of unnecessary other shit that gets posted in there. Pretty much the entire rest of the forum is fair game, just let people have their for sale ads in peace.

I agree with the minimum post, I'd even be ok with upping it to 100.

The 60 day thing is alright, but not sure it's totally necessary. I have a bunch of parts for sale that are definitely more than 60 days old, but don't see the need in cluttering up the forum by bumping the threads all the time. I know everyone doesn't, but I do go through and remove stuff as it's sold or edit the post. If I'm the only one that posted I just delete the whole thread. I guess it can be frustrating when you're trying to shop, not knowing what's actually still for sale, but send a pm and if you don't get a response, move on..

On another forum I moderate, our rule is 50 posts AND 6 months of membership before you can start a thread in the classifieds. 20 posts and one month before you can use the PM feature. It's very effective.

Hey guys I purged all the classifieds and deleted everything over 1 year old. I then set it to automatically delete 6 months old.

I find the site is running faster now. There's was a shitload of classifieds just taking up space.
