Hello MMT, I stumbled onto this site yesterday while surfing the net researching mud boats, mud motors, etc. I have a 23 year-old rig that I've decided to replace, to hunt and fish with in my retirement years. The old rig is a 1648 riveted Alumacraft w/ a 16hp Go-Devil longtail and an Avery Quickset that rarely gets used for various reasons. My old rig has been from Devil's Lake, ND to Vickburg, MS and many points in between. Mostly, the Upper Mississippi NFWR, mostly pool 13, but 12 too. I also spend about a month in MS hunting mostly flooded timber, but that's not all. I have been thinking about a surface drive rig ( I have experienced the inconveniences of a longtail in the current of small rivers, and in the flooded timber). Last year my buddy in MS, bought a Gator Trax 3 man Gator Hide w/ a Mud Buddy HD Black Death, and I got to drive it some. Anyway, this site looks like my kinda site, and I'm hoping to learn all about surface motors and the boats that float them. and2therepublic |
