it's a mudmotor, not a raceboat.
had to go bust a trail through some bad floton/lilies this weekend. was worried about crossing it in the airboat and getting stuck. this was the first long trail I have had to dig with the 2:1 lower unit.
it only took 3 hrs of steady digging, but I can certainly tell the difference between the gear ratios.
the 2:1 is a beast. there was only a inch or so of water under he floton/lilies, so u had to chop it up and grind it thru the prop.
without fpr this would be a no-go. the ability to hopelessly plant the boat then wash under it, back up and hit it again wfo and make a few feet is priceless.
I had to stop and add oil twice, but my old briggs still gets the job done. I grabbed my phone and the boat was running a honest 25 on the way back. I can live with that.
I was just thinking I needed to post this, so there would be a different type of thread on here besides...
1. which oil makes my motor faster?
2. my boat goes 100mph but blows up every weekend.
3. my mudmotor dealer is a azzhat.
4. you can't pull your boat behind the F-250 without mods.
lol
