Hi Guys new to Mud motors I have a question I have a PD36 EFI on a Phowler 19x60 with a full grass blind loaded with fuel and 3 guys 75 decoys can only go 13 mph. When empty no blind and one person 19. Any idea what it should do? |

You need duals with that size boat and weight or a heavily molded motor. |

That's a big heavy boat. Mods will help but definitely won't be a speed boat. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk |

What year is the motor. Should be getting better speeds than that. I have a 2060 phowler and when motor was stock i would get better than 19 loaded. Now with mods and 4 guys and 150 deekes n gear im mid 20s loaded down |

remember, these are lawnmower engines, not waterthunder v8"s. be happy with 13mph loaded. |

I would be happy with 13mph loaded down with a longtail, not a 2013 surface drive. Give illowa a call n tell em whats going on. Deff should have more speed than that. What rpms that thing turning. |

these motors are finiky, I had my skiff loaded to the gills and had I another guy on top the gear. I stopped 4 or 5 times to adjust my load and improved from 12 to 15 mph in deep water and 17+ running 5' off the bank. I swapped the extra guy out with a big fat guy like me and 14 was the best I could do. got him out the boat and could run 17 in the deep. I usually run 22-23 in the deep with a normal load [gen 3] light and loaded is a world of difference, that's where mods help. good luck with it!!!!! |

It's a good move going back to the dealer for advice. Even with a load you should be seeing high teens or low 20's. My 20 X 60 home built with GD 37 EFI runs 25 with a heavy load. My 24 X 60 Monark, Which is over 30 years old, runs 20 with a load and is powered with a GD and ECOTRONS EFI. If I was the dealer I would look at trim first. Since you seem to be getting good RPM's what is the condition of the prop? Good luck on sorting it out. |
