So I finally got around to doing my gator glide G2. I did the half gallon kit with the base and G2. I did the base Sunday and by Wednesday it was time for the glide. I had enough base and glide with the half gallon kit to do 5 coats of each on a 1750 gator trax with hunt deck; which is realistically just about a 19' boat. I also had enough to do 2 coats of each on the bunks. After letting it all cure out per the instructions, today was the day to run the rig and give it a shot. Man what a difference. When I launched the boat, I left the winch attached. When the boat was backed down into the water just enough to clear the ramp I went to lower it from the winch, and it starting winding out immediately! I picked up 1mph but the biggest thing was keeping my speed in areas I'd normally bog down and get stuck in. It is completely night and day. The heavy sawgrass didn't stand a chance. It jut kept on pushing through. When it came time to hook back up, I hooked back up from the shoreline; only backing up just enough for my bunks to just be underwater. Realistically being about a 5 degree decline. I drove the boat up on the trailer to my front bunk took it out of gear to connect the winch back to it and reel it in. Damn was I wrong. As soon as I put it in neutral, it slid right off the bunks. Had to keep it in gear to get it back up on the trailer and secured. I am very impressed. So far not even a scratch or chip either! |

Andy, was that kit a 1/2 Gallon of base and a 1/2 Gallon of G2? And did you flip the boat to paint it? |

Awesome product!! had it on a boat probly 4-5 years ago and it worked great! Also when you pull the boat up on the bank you better tie it off or throw the anchor on lad because it wont stay there with gatorglide on it. |
