I was running heads cam carb exhaust up until two days ago on a 1860. Makes a GDSD much harder to drive with the extra power. Had high 20s and great load carrying capacity on the big hull though.

My 37 is stock but has bumped 30 in a couple inches of water on a perfect day. It's typically high 20's solo, mid 20's with more people and gear. For a stock engine though, it has good, usable power.

I know it's done every day but I wouldn't hang a GDSD off anything that wasn't a mud hull. Get a GD, PD or home-brew flat bottom hull and you'll be much better served for not much more investment.

I've got a 35 on an alweld. Running upper 20s as well. Recently added a few modifications and
I got to test run it a tad the other day running a steady 31, in some crazy wind.
I left it with the mechanic to get all the kinks out and get full travel of my throttle. Still got some more to squeeze out of it

Got a 37 on a 16x48 go devil, it flies solo, with 2 guys or with 3 guys. Talking adults too, not 120 pound string bean guys. Fun little boat for sure, but if I was buying new go devil hull I'd go with a 18x48 or 18x44. The 18x44 actually weighs 10 pounds less than my 16x48. Really wish they'd make a 17' boat.

It's not a 3 man rig though, can be done but pain and better have everything situated just right. Fortunately got plenty of buddies with big boats. We go hunt something tight we run my boat, we want to fish or hunt something where it's a normal run we take theirs. Works out great.
