I have a 2010 35hp godevil surface drive and last weekend i was out running with a full hunt load (9 doz deeks 4 guys about 150lbs each and a dog 100lbs) was running full throttle just on plane and motor was acting fine and then all the power suddenly cut off. we lost all throttle response but all the parts still moved at normal. lift the prop out of the water and i takes about 10 seconds of buildup to get any decent rpms out of it. and as soon as you drop it back in it goes straight back to idle. What could be wrong cause i have no clue. |

So, the engine shut down all at once? Or engine still running and getting good RPMs but propeller not turning? |

I had something similar happen to mine but it was the rev limiter. It got wet and shit the bed. I'd check that/take it off and see if it runs fine if you have one. |

Exact same thing happened to me last year. It was a disconnected rod. |

Make sure it isn't running on one cylinder. Pull spark plugs one at a time to see if motor dies. If it does die pull valve covers and see whats going on inside. |

Twice my Prodrive 36 while at WOT died. Out of the water it ran fine, turned the right rpms and sounded fine. Put it in the water and it would only run about 5 mph, or a little higher than idle. Both times a push rod had jumped out of place. Easy fix by putting back in place and adjusting valves. Hope this is all that's wrong with yours and what ever it is, is an easy fix. By the way, this is caused from not keeping the valves adjusted (I think). |
