I recently came across a mold this morning for a small skiff and was wondering what it would cost to make a boat out of it. It's about 14ft long. I'd like to make it light weight and put a small 6.5 Thai Longtail on the back. Any ideas on what I'm getting myself into? Cool looking mold |

It's gonna take some work to get it smooth again. And it's not much to build it. I build a 17x3 inboard about 3/8 thick . Only cost about 900 or so for the fiberglass and resin and I have plenty fiberglass left over |

You mean to get the mold smooth? Patching a pirogue with bondo and fiberglass mat is the extent of my fiberglass experience. |

I love when people talk about fiberglass mud boats. I was just talking to a guy a few weeks ago running around lake Boeuf in a fiberglass hull....told him he was pretty brave running that out there. He told me all about how he was down in bayou black and hit something and sank his boat and got to spend the night out there and get rescued by the USCG the next day. Sounds like lots of fun. |

That's some bullshit right there. They don't tell us anything if we are just out there fishing or something. You get off in the marsh though and you got serious problems. |

Yeah . Need to get the Mold smooth as possible . It took my dad and I about 5 months to fix a mold and lay a 17x3 inboard mudboat from scratch. Alot more work than I was expecting |
