So I inquired about one of these motors this week and was informed a 50hp motor cost 11,800 dollars and a 40hp 11,000 they are both tohatsu that's the only brand they are selling now. Yah unbelievable right? Then I gladly informed him for 11,000 I could but any mud motor and mod it for that price. I told him to get on this site and bring his stuff to the mud run to prove how much better his motors are compared to a mud motor |

Mud motor manufacturers aren't allowed to peddle their products here. |

the 50 hp would be about 7k without the cooling system. Its not a surface drive, cant see it working for me. |

I thought it had been validated they were Mercury based? We had that thread a few months back with updates and videos...whatever happened to that? None of you rich rednecks have bought one yet? |

I would not mind dropping 11k on a motor of this concept if it actually worked and was reliable. I mainly run crawfish traps and fish the marsh/rivers, with some duck hunts every now and then. So an outboard will probably work 80% of the time, but its that 20% that will prevent me from getting to my traps or get stuck on a falling tide. I really hope they continue to improve and get a motor like this to the market. would like to see a big motor brand like Merc behind it and develop something. |

Another question is how well will the lower unit hold up in stumps, timber, and the multiple cypress knees that I run thru? |
