greetings, preparing to install a 6.5 hp short tail on a 14ft and 40 inch wide aluminum jon boat. Will be use primarily on the Kankakee river in Illinois, which is mostly rocks, mud and a vast amount of hidden trees. looking for a few tweaks that can be done while doing the initial install. also is anyone running higher octane fuel in their mud skippers ? How long will a tank of fuel last , was looking to just carry a 2.5 gallon container along ? Would like to really quiet it down if possible ? thanx casca |

Stock it'll work just fine, we did a timing key, "exhaust" and a carb on a swamp runner 6.5 predator and works ok, most guys on here run heavier duty kits vs mud skipper/swamp runner which Is why you won't find a lot of info on here about them unfortunately |
