Post Go Devil vs Mud Buddy
Hi new here and have never owned a mud motor - however that moment is soon to come. I've been looking around on line and looking where dealerships are located and such and have narrowed my choices down to a mud buddy or a godevil 35hp surface drive. I'm just wondering about people's experiances and opinions of these two brands.
My Boat is a 1756 Alumacraft, that had a 50 Merc. on it. I use this boat mainly for bowfishing and duck hunting.

either one is a good unit. the go-devil is a nofrills workhorse and the hyper is a copy of a gatortail without the reverse feature.

the neutral on the hyper is a nice feature to have.

since u got it narrowed down to these two motors, u ought to go to each dealer and let them throw a motor on ur boat and go run it to see what u like best. they will do this for free.

good luck, i'm sure either one will go u a great job. :)

If you don't need all of the frills that you can get with a Mud Buddy, than I will choose the Go Devil over Mud Buddy any day.

No matter which one you choose, these things can and do break and require service. If you are not the kind of guy who fixes things himself, you will want to factor the dealer into your decision. You want to pick the one who gives you the best impression that he will be there to support you after the sale.
